In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as defined by the Mayo Clinic, “…you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.”

There’s nothing particularly ethereal about it. CBT is very structured and “logical”, and as a result, patients can more easily recognize their progress/get a handle where they are in the process. Which isn’t to say, there won’t be adjustments along the way. “The good life,” as Carl Rogers so aptly put it, “is a process, not a state of being.  It is a direction, not a destination.”
