Dr. Liz Stein, Psy.D

Here when the need is there

Welcome

Thank you for taking a few moments to look at my website. Reaching out for help takes courage and strength, and I applaud you for having both.

Whether you’re going through a difficult period, wanting to make a specific change in your life, or simply hope to get to know yourself better, I can help you just as I’ve helped many others. And not surprisingly, the most important element in that process is creating an environment of trust. Only then will you feel comfortable sharing your innermost thoughts, and I’ll feel comfortable addressing them—and be able to provide a warm, supportive, safe and nurturing space for our journey together.

The Path Forward

In matters of emotion, I’m an incurable optimist and have always believed that there’s an answer if you know the right questions to ask. And so, our relationship will begin with some discussion, from which we’ll determine the best course
of action. I say “we” for a reason. Even though psychology is my area of expertise, your input and participation are necessary to bring it to fruition.

Whatever the type of treatment, my approach will be an empathetic one. A therapist must be able to empathize with any type of patient, and feel what the patient is feeling—whether its a 60-year-old male corporate executive (which I’ve treated) or a 15-year-old girl (which I’ve also treated).

"Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens."
